Women, Culture and Peace (WCP): A New Agenda for Global Cultural Policy
The world needs a new approach to peacebuilding. One that includes not only political and military strategies, but also cultural transformation. The Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda, born from UN Security Council Resolution 1325 (2000), calls for women’s inclusion in all peace processes. It shows us that peace cannot succeed without women at the table.
Inspired by this vision, we introduce a new, complementary concept:
Women, Culture and Peace (WCP).
Why Women, Culture and Peace?
Culture shapes the way people live, relate, and resolve conflict.
But often, cultural policies leave out women’s voices.
WCP fills this gap.
This concept aligns with UNESCO’s Culture of Peace program.
It focuses on transforming mindsets and institutions through education, creativity, and non-violence.
WCP adds a gender lens to this transformation.
It recognizes that women are key to cultural innovation and peaceful change.
Their leadership, stories, and artistic expressions can heal trauma, preserve heritage, and build new futures.
Building on UNESCO’s Legacy
UNESCO’s Culture of Peace program began over 25 years ago.
It promotes peace through education, dialogue, human rights, and sustainable development.
WCP brings this legacy into the 21st century.
It centers women as cultural leaders in peacebuilding.
Through cultural policies, art, and public dialogue, WCP creates new spaces for women to lead.
MONDIACULT 2025
In September 2025, Barcelona hosted MONDIACULT 2025 –
UNESCO’s global conference on culture and sustainable development.
Ministers of Culture from 100+ countries attended.
They discussed new cultural goals for the post-2030 world.
Among these priorities: Culture for Peace.
WCP mobilizes civil society, artists, educators, and women’s groups.
It aims to bring Culture for Peace and women’s leadership to the center of global policy.
What WCP Advocates
- Gender-inclusive cultural policies
- Funding for women-led peace and cultural initiatives
- Recognition of women’s heritage and storytelling in peacebuilding
- Support for women artists and educators as peace agents
- Cultural hubs that empower women at the grassroots level
WCP in Action
We are introducing WCP through our RYB Global Platform and the $CULTURE token.
We aim to connect local hubs to a global network.
We support women through art, education, and crypto-financed community projects.
Our first campaign promotes Women’s Days for a Culture of Peace.
These events highlight women’s role in building peace through culture.
Looking Forward
WCP is more than a campaign.
It’s a long-term movement for peace, empowering women and culture.
As the world joined MONDIACULT 2025, we call on all allies:
Artists, educators, cultural leaders, and citizens —
Let’s work together for a Culture of Peace, empowering women worldwide.
